The Kansas City Chiefs continue to dominate NFL headlines three months after their back-to-back Super Bowl wins, although in some instances, not for good reasons.
The team is in the spotlight again after kicker Harrison Butker gets criticized for his recent comments about people who belong to the LGBT community and the role of women in society.
Butker, who has been with the Chiefs since 2017, appeared as a guest speaker in front of students from Benedictine College for their commencement exercise and made controversial remarks that many thought were homophobic and misogynistic.

Chief among them is when he suggested that Pride Month is a deadly sin while women are supposed to be homemakers instead of having their careers.
"Not the deadly sins sort of Pride that has an entire month dedicated to it," Butker said in the 20-minute speech.
"But the true God-centered pride that is cooperating with the holy ghost to glorify him."
He also spoke in front of graduating students and said that the main title they should chase is to become a homemaker, referencing the life his wife is living.
"I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolic lies told to you," Butker said.
"Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world. I can tell you that my beautiful wife Isabelle would be the first to say her life truly started when she started living her vocation as a wife and as a mother."
It is not that hard to see where Butker was coming from with his remarks.
He is an outspoken Christian and espouses traditional beliefs about family.
While some negatively perceive his views, others think he was speaking from his experience.
Butker repeating his well-documented stance
This is not the first time Butker made his beliefs known.
He has been criticized before, but he stands firm in what he believes in.
In 2023, he said people should get married and start a family life. He suggested that "self-dependence and prioritizing our career over important relationships" are the root causes of loneliness.
When invited to the White House in 2023, he wore a pro-life tie as a protest against President Joe Biden's support for pro-choice movements.
He was tagged as antisemite recently when he said in a 2024 commencement speech that the Jewish people are "responsible for the death of Jesus." The comment came as he criticized a bill proposed to elevate punishment for antisemitism.
Chiefs' interesting offseason
The Kansas City Chiefs and their players have been busy this offseason.
Before Butker's remarks, wide receiver Rashee Rice made headlines after getting involved in a car accident. He has since surrendered to the authorities for investigation.
Their Super Bowl success this year did not translate to more funding as there is now a possibility they will leave Kansas after a $2 billion proposal to upgrade the Arrowhead Stadium was rejected.
The funding was supposed to come from the taxpayers' pockets, and many critics say the upgrade is only meant to cater to the rich.
In February, the team's championship parade was also marred by a shooting.
