Lolo Jones Twitter date copied: Houston Texans cheerleader agrees to prom date after high schooler's 10,000 retweets [VIDEO]

It worked, at least initially, on Lolo Jones. Now, it has worked, at least initially, on a Houston Texans cheerleader.

Yahoo! Sports reported that a high school football player, Michael Ramirez from Crosby, Texas, asked out a Houston Texans cheerleader named Caitlyn Beth via Twitter, going to Caitlyn's account and asking, "If I get to 10,000 retweets will you go to prom with me (smiley face emoticon) you will get asked in a cute way!"

Beth responded, "Of course, I will (smiley face emoticon), and the contest began.

And of course, Ramirez, with a Twitter name Big Mike, received more than 11,000 retweets.

When Big Mike reached the milestone, Beth responded, "Can't wait for prom."

The Houston Texans official website lists Beth as 19 years old, so the date isn't that weird. Yahoo! Sports reported that she is 20.

In July of 2013, a Georgia State student, Bubby Lyles, asked Jones, the Olympic hurdler and bobsled brakewoman, on a date through Twitter if he received 150,000 retweets. She agreed and he also hit his magic number.

When Jones found out, she responded, "@harrylylesjr 2x Olympic champ @elsupersanchez ran down to the dining hall and told me the news. I cant wait to go out on our date!"

Lyles, however, recently tweeted that their date has been canceled, although he stopped short of giving a reason why:

"I am sorry to let you all know that the date with Lolo Jones is not going to happen. Thanks for the support that you all have shown me," Lyles tweeted.

So far, Jones' canceled Twitter date has not had tempered the enthusiasm toward Ramirez's prom date with Beth.
