Danny Granger set to join L.A. Clippers starting lineup? [VIDEO]

Danny Granger is eyeing a starting job as he prepares to join the L.A. Clippers for his first game with the team since being acquired on waivers late last week.

Granger was set to take the floor on Saturday against New Orleans, but coach Glenn "Doc" Rivers forgot to list him on the list of active players, officially ending his night before it started.

Whenever the nine-year veteran does have the chance to suit up, it could be as a starter for the Clips, who currently are without injured perimeter players Jamal Crawford and J.J. Redick.

Rivers tell USA Today Sports "ideally" Granger would be a starter for the Clippers because of the height and flexibility he provides. "The whole key is how quickly we can get him acclimated, how quickly we can figure out what he does well," he told the newspaper. "And he's still coming back from the injury, so even though he's back, he still needs more time and minutes."

Later Granger added "it's the type of system I will probably thrive in. It's the system I have thrived in in the past. All the players want to play that way."

Granger is the second major addition to the Clippers in the past week, joining big man Glen Davis.
