CM Punk rumors [VIDEO]: Punk vs. Orton vs. Batista at WrestleMania 30? Update on 'Best in the World' possibly returning on Chicago Monday Night RAW

It was reported over the weekend that there is some speculation regarding CM Punk returning on RAW live from his home city of Chicago, and with the rumors of his return nearing there have also been some leaks as to what Punk's role will possibly be at WrestleMania XXX on April 6 from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.

A look back at CM Punk's greatest WWE moments

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, if Punk does return he will either replace Daniel Bryan in the current feud with Triple H or be added into the main event match making it a triple threat with Punk, Batista and Randy Orton for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

With Punk's contract set to expire in July and "The Best in the World" giving no sign that he intends to sign an extension, it is likely that he will lose his match if he's put in the main event as the report indicates that the WWE doesn't want to put the title on him for a short-term reign after WrestleMania.

Source: CM Punk to show up at Chicago RAW?

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer said over the weekend that a source said that Punk is expected to be at Monday night's RAW from Chicago though Meltzer added he couldn't 100 percent guarantee that Punk will be in attendance. Meltzer did suggest that his source, who is apparently a top WWE star, said that they were 100 percent sure of it.

Punk stormed out of the WWE hours prior to the Jan. 27 edition of RAW the night after the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. While he's been quiet about his reasoning the likely motives to Punk walking out are his frustrations with his place on the card as well as part-timers such as Batista and The Rock returning to main event WrestleMania.

Punk, who has been vocally frustrated in the past with is spot on the biggest show of the year, has always wanted to main event a WrestleMania and with his contract up in July and it looking as though he wasn't going to headline this year's show, he was reportedly upset.

Punk wasn't happy with his planned match against Triple H, so if he does return it would be interesting to see if the WWE decides to go with it anyway. The WWE has already built momentum towards a Triple H and Bryan feud, so it seems as though Punk may actually be inserted into the main event if he returns.

It's uncertain if Punk will show up at the Chicago RAW, but there is a chance that Punk returns from his home city and partakes in WrestleMania XXX in New Orleans.
