WrestleMania 30 rumors [VIDEO]: Update on The Shield's role, triple threat and title unification matches being considered

With just over four weeks until WWE WrestleMania XXX at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans on April 6, the WWE's plans are mostly set in stone, though their ideas for what The Shield will do at the biggest event of the year are up in the air.

WWE mulling Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins match?

It has been speculated in the past that the WWE was considering doing a triple threat match between all three members of The Shield, pitting Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins that would mean that the faction possibly would be splitting up.

WWE.com also had an article up with WWE United States Champion Ambrose and Intercontinental Champion Big E discussing the possibility of one day doing a title unification match for both belts. According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, the idea of having Big E and Ambrose faceoff for both titles has also been thrown around for WrestleMania XXX along with the speculated triple threat match involving The Shield members.

The WWE has hinted at a rift between the trio in recent months and it is expected that Reigns is due to get a push soon as a singles star, which means its very probable that the WWE could have the triple threat match take place in New Orleans.

The WWE doesn't want to have two triple threat matches on the same show, so if they decide to add either Daniel Bryan or CM Punk (if he returns) to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match between Randy Orton and Batista, it's unlikely the WWE will do the triple threat.

Ambrose and Big E both seemed interested in combining the titles in an interview with WWE.com in January.

"I feel that what I've given and sacrificed for the U.S. Title, I'd be willing to put that on the line as a pride thing." Ambrose told WWE.com. "It's just as good as the Intercontinental Title. That's something I'd be willing to prove."

Added Big E: "I'd be open to it. If it strengthens the legitimacy of both titles, then I'm all for it."

The only two confirmed matches for WrestleMania XXX so far are Orton vs. Batista--which is subject to change if the WWE inserts another superstar--and The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar. Other rumored matches have included Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H, John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt, Ryback vs. Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio vs. Rey Mysterio.

It remains to be seen what the WWE will opt to do with The Shield, but it will be hashed out soon as the WWE continues down the road to WrestleMania XXX.
