Darren Sharper's ex-girlfriend insists he never offered her drugs while they were dating and she is "completely shocked" by the rape allegations he now faces.
According to TMZ, the unidentified woman claims the 38-year-old Sharper was not a booze-obsessed, drink-spiking psychopath during their nearly year together and the two counts of rape and various other sex crime allegations he now faces is "opposite of the guy I knew."
The woman later added "he didn't want me to drink. Never offered me drugs. He was really concerned with how I was around him. I've seen him help people. We went to a charity event together. He was egotistical, but the guy that I know is not like the way he's been described in police reports."
Sharper is due in court in L.A. on Friday to face charges on an extradition warrant in New Orleans where two other women have charged he raped and drug them over the last year. In all, nine women in five different states have accused him of spiking their drinks with the sleep-inducing drug Ambien and then attacking them.
TMZ adds the woman claims Sharper did research on her before they started dating to make sure she wasn't a "crazy girl." She later added "I'm hoping for his children's sake it's not true. I don't want to see him leave that type of legacy for his children."
