Phil Jackson to take Knicks' front office job and hire Steve Kerr as coach? [VIDEO]

Attention New York, Phil Jackson's moving in, and the blend of Zen he's bringing will include a helping of Kerr.

ESPN is reporting that NBA sources close the New York Knicks indicate that "it looks like" Phil Jackson will accept a yet-to-be named front office position, and basketball.realgm.com is citing ESPN's Bill Simmons and the New York Daily News' Frank Isola in reporting that Steve Kerr would be a leading candidate if and when Jackson is hired.

Kerr is an analyst for TNT who worked as the president of basketball operations for the Phoenix Suns from 2007-10. He also played for Jackson as a member of the Chicago Bulls from the 1993-94 season to the 1997-98 season.

The New York Post reported that Jackson would want to bring in a coach that is comfortable with the triangle offense.

ESPN added that Jackson's hire would be an attempt by the Knicks to get rid of the influence of Creative Artists Agency, which represents coach Mike Woodson, general manager Allan Houston, player personnel director Mark Warkentien and star player Carmelo Anthony.

An anonymous Knicks player told ESPN that CAA's influence over the franchise was creating a rift in the locker room.

"You see how guys from CAA are treated differently," the player said. "How they get away with saying certain things to coaches. How coaches talk to them differently than they talk to the other guys. It's a problem."

Jackson last was coaching the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2010-11 season. He appeared to be ready to return to the Lakers last year when the team fired Mike Brown five games into the season, but the Lakers hired Mike D'Antoni instead.

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of Jackson's impending hire in New York would be the dynamic it creates with his fiancée Jeanie Buss, president of the Lakers.
