Atlanta Falcons news: Tyson Jackson to Dirty Birds, pass rush problems solved? [GIFs]

The Falcons found a defensive end that will play for them, but still don't have a pass rusher to speak of. The Atlanta Falcons signed former Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Tyson Jackson to a five-year, $25 million deal with $11 million guaranteed.

NFL Free Agency Rankings: Defensive Lineman

Jackson is a former Top 5 draft pick that never really developed into the dominate player the Chiefs thought he would be. He is an excellent run stopper and could be considered one of the best in the game at this particular skill. Thats where Jackson’s talent ends considering he brings nothing to the table in terms of pass rush.

NFL Free Agency Winners and Losers: Day One

The Falcon’s have shown hints of switching to the 3-4 and if thats the case this signing makes more sense, but that remains to be seen. Not only did the Falcons sign a one trick pony that hasn't shown a pulse in their area of need, but they severely overpaid for him.

NFL Draft Team Previews: Seattle Seahawks

With talent like Jared Allen, Justin Tuck, Jason Babin and even DeMarcus Ware out their it’s hard to be excited by this move if you are affiliated with the Falcons. Free agency is still in it’s infancy and many more moves could be made, but if this is the Falcons ace in the hole they are still in severe need of pass rush. Paging Khalil Mack
