The second day of free agency kept up the pace with big names changing addresses yet again. Some deals were better than others and some were downright brutal. Feel free to comment and tweet your own grades and analysis.
NFL Free Agency Winners and Loser: Day One
Patriots sign CB Darrelle Revis (1 year, $12 million): It’s incredible that the Broncos and Patriots have taken their rivalry to the bank, literally. This deal is incredible for both sides. Revis basically signs a franchise tag (around $11.2 mil) and instantly makes the Patriots a huge contender again. All credit to Belichick and the dark side.

Free Agency Grades and Analysis: Day One Lineman
Broncos sign DE DeMarcus Ware (3 years, $30M; $20M guaranteed): Denver started this whole contest by signing Ware away from the Cowboys. Denver has their pass rush from both sides back. Just think this deal wouldn’t have happened of Elvis Dumervil didn’t screw up his fax.
Grade: A
Jets sign WR Eric Decker (5 years, $36.25M; $15M guaranteed): I guess Eric Decker doesn’t really care about football anymore? Decker’s production has been due to his talent, but the inflation due to Peyton Manning can’t be denied. Decker instantly becomes the best receiver on the Jets, but thats not saying much. Jets overpaid and Decker will suffer from having Geno Smith or Michael Vick throwing to him, its a shame.
Grade: C+
Free Agency Grades and Analysis: Day One Secondary
Giants sign RB Rashad Jennings (4 years, $14M; $3M guaranteed): A little pricy, but Jennings could potentially be the Giants starting running back in 2014. I hope the Giants aren’t done re-tooling their backfield because David Wilson is miserable.
Grade: B
NFL Draft Team Preview: Denver Broncos
Bills sign OLB Keith Rivers (2 years, $5 million): The Bills are truly confused about what they are doing in 2014. Rivers is only any good in the true 4-3 and unless the Bills are making the switch the move doesn’t make any sense. They can try and force him in a spot, but I have low expectations.
Grade: D
Lions sign WR Golden Tate (5 years, $31M; $13.25M guaranteed): I like this move more than other people. Sure Tate has never been the greatest receiver, but thats not Seattle’s game. I want to believe Tate will benefit from the attention Calvin Johnson demands much like Wes Welker when he had Randy Moss in New England. I like the deal, but the money makes me cautiously optimistic.
Grade: C+
Colts re-sign RB Ahmad Bradshaw (1 year, $855,000): Colts knocked this out of the park. Bradshaw still has some gas in the tank, but too many injuries to command a medium contract or guaranteed money. Bradshaw gets to stay in town and the Colts get an RB2.
Grade: B+
Ravens re-sign WR/KR Jacoby Jones (4 years, $14M; $4.5M guaranteed): Jones offers little more than special teams coverage, but he is turning 30 and specialists start to decline around that age. Jones brought Baltimore a Super Bowl and that played a factor in the deal, but Jones will be done before this deal ends.
Grade: C-
Buccaneers sign QB Josh McCown (2 years, $10 million): McCown signed this deal and then Lovie Smith announced he is the starting QB. Not bad for the journeyman 34-year-old. Tampa will draft the future and ride out McCown.
Grade: B+
Dolphins re-sign DT Randy Starks (2 years, $12M; $5M guaranteed): Dolphins had to make this move. Starks has been a top ten talent at the position and would have haunted the Dolphins if he left. Great move.
Grade: A-
Vikings sign DT Linval Joseph (5 years, $31.5M; $12.5M guaranteed): Another DT finds a home. Vikings upgrade a position of need and give Shariff Floyd a true mentor. The DT market was above average and Vikings got a good one.
Grade: A-
Note: Oakland Raiders' 5-year, $42.5 million deal with OT Rodger Saffold voided due to failed physical, He re-signed with St. Louis Rams.
