Favorites: Florida Gators
The No. 1 overall seed Florida Gators are the most likely to make the Sweet 16 of any team in the South Region. The Gators are on fire and are on and incredible win streak that should only grow in the opening weekend. Look for them to establish dominance early and send a message throughout the tournament.

Bracket Busters in Each Region

Upset Watch: SF Austin
SF Austin can knock off VCU and it’s a popular pick. The Lumberjacks are the owners of a 28- game winning streak and the Rams will be hurting without Melvin Johnson. There are multiple scenarios for upsets in this region, but my money would be on SF Austin.

Underrated Players of March Madness

Best Matchup: New Mexico v. Kansas
The potential New Mexico vs. Kansas matchup would be the best from the region on the first weekend. The Lobos could be the team to knock off the Jayhawks, but regardless the game would be one of the primetime match ups of the first weekend. The Lobos have the pieces to win two games even if they come via Stanford and Kansas.

Wild Card: Ohio State v. Syracuse
Ohio State v. Syracuse is an interesting matchup on paper. Syracuse was once the consensus No.1 but has seen better days and Ohio State has underachieved this season and has looked atrocious at times. They are the perfect storm for each other and one of them has to make the Sweet 16 in theory. These two struggling teams could take their frustrations out on each other with one team finding a rhythm.
