Iowa State head coach Fred Hoiberg getting offers from NBA teams? [VIDEO]

Iowa State head coach Fred Hoiberg can find himself coaching an NBA team with the number of clubs interested in his services, according to TV analyst Steve Kerr.

Kerr told DesMoinesRegister.com about Hoiberg's chances of landing an NBA coaching job: "I've talked to a lot of people in the NBA. The minute he says he's interested, he'll have some offers."

"This isn't surprising to me, the success that he's had," Kerr added.

Hoiberg himself has admitted that he had received some feelers from NBA franchises that he refused to identify. He, however, has not engaged in any serious talks with NBA teams.

"Nothing got to the point where there was an offer," Hoiberg said.

Hoiberg has a 10-year contract worth $20 million that will expire in 2023. He is set to earn $1.7 million this year, with his salary increasing by $100,000 annually.

Should he accept a head coaching or general manager job in the NBA before his deal expires, he will have to pay his alma mater $500,000. The buyout increases to $2 million should he accept a coaching position from another Division I school.

Hoiberg could leave Iowa State for the Minnesota Timberwolves, where he played and served as a front-office administrator. However, he admits he is at home with his Alma Mater. During last year's NCAA Tournament, he was quoted as saying: "It's been great for me to be home. I grew up five blocks from Hilton Coliseum, used to walk to games. I was a ball boy as a kid. I was a ball boy for the football team, and I've just always had such a great passion for Cyclone athletics."

The No.3 seed Iowa State Cyclones overpowered North Carolina Central on Friday, 93-75.
