The saga of extravagant foods at MLB ballparks continues and now the New York Mets are throwing their hat into the ring. The Mets have proposed a $12 Italian meatball slider deal that gets you three sliders.

D-Backs Introduce the "D-Bat" Monster Corndog

The Mets are the latest team pulling out all the stops following in the footsteps of the Diamondbacks’ 18-inch corn dog known as the “D-Bat” and the Rangers two-foot long hotdog called the “Broomstick”. The Mets’ sliders come in at $12 as opposed to the $25 and $26 of the other foods.

National League East Preview and Predictions

The Mets choice of Italian style food doesn't come as a surprise due to the Italian background of many in New York and should be a best seller among the choices in Citi Field. The Pat LaFrieda's Signature Meatball Sliders will open next to the already established Pat LaFrieda's Original Filet Mignon Steak Sandwich stands by Section 139, Field Level.

"We're so excited to add to the fantastic dining amenities at Citi Field and expand on our partnership with the Mets," said Pat LaFrieda. "It's our pleasure to be able to bring these new options to the fans at Citi Field.”
