New York Yankee news: David Wells hung over for 1998 perfect game? 'Boomer' partied night before [VIDEO]

In 1998 David Wells threw a perfect game. What we didn’t know was Wells had himself quite the night before and after that game.

AL East Full Preview and Predictions

Wells told ESPN E:60 that he is a master of working hungover and as his golden example he told a story about when he went on a bender with the Saturday Night Live crew in 1998. Wells recalled how he went out with the likes of Will Ferrell, Norm MacDonald and Tracy Morgan and got obliterated.

If that wasn't a good enough story for you by itself then try this. Not only did Wells have to be in the clubhouse the next morning, but he was slated to pitch. In typical David Wells fashion not only did he go out and pitch, but he happened to throw the first perfect game in Yankee history. Thats right, Wells went out and destroyed his body, then pitched a major league baseball game sweating battery acid from the night before and pitched a perfect game. That is about as incredible as it gets.

Wells was notorious for being a party animal and even became diabetic from his poor diet among other things. Wells will always be the first Yankee to throw a perfect game, but that is a whole different level of impressive.
