Ultimate Warrior dead: 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper calls Jim Hellwig a 'hypocrite', Vince McMahon gets emotional in Warrior documentary

The WWE aired a special on Thursday night involving the late Jim 'Ultimate Warrior' Hellwig, and Vince McMahon was emotional when he appeared on it while "Rowdy" Roddy Piper spoke of the Warrior and his legacy recently with the Fox 411 affiliate, while mentioning some hypocritical things he has done.

Update on CM Punk's WWE status

Thursday night, the WWE aired The Ultimate Legend tribute to The Warrior, who died last week of complications stemming to heart disease, and McMahon, Sting and Triple H were some of the names to appear on the special.

McMahon got emotional when talking about The Warrior while Triple H said that he received the news of Warrior's passing from his assistant and knew that it was going to be hard to pass along to McMahon because of what The Warrior meant to him.

Former WWE writer says that The Undertaker likely made decision to lose at WrestleMania

McMahon said that it was surreal that Warrior died and that he didn't want to believe it. McMahon said that the timing of Warrior's death was almost as if it was meant to be and that he wouldn't be one to look for sympathy as he'd rather people celebrate his life.

McMahon and The Warrior had a rocky relationship in the past, as Warrior did with many former talents, however Warrior and McMahon were able to make amends and The Warrior had a weekend of redemption and celebrating on the weekend before he died. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and then appeared at WrestleMania XXX and then the following night's Monday Night RAW on the eve of his death.

Warrior delivered a chilling promo about life and death as well as wrestling legends' legacies in a promo that almost seemed to forecast his death. Sting called his promo "prophetic" and talked about the history he had with Warrior through his career.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper talked to a Fox affiliate to promote WWE Legends House on the WWE Network and shared some thoughts on The Warrior.

"For the wrestling community, he had a tremendous audience," Piper said. "A lot of people used to knock him for his interviews for not making any sense. What they didn't understand is they weren't supposed to. They were for children. "I'm Batman. I'm Superman." And there they are trying to get something great. No, they are for kids. The one thing I'll say about him is he was a little different, as we are all are, but he would be speaking out about guys like myself, Ric Flair, some other guys saying, 'You guys should hang it up. It's embarrassing. You keep going out.' But he [legally] changed his name to Warrior. I found that a little hypocritical."

Following his weekend of redemption, The Warrior collapsed while walking to his car with his family on April 8 and then eventually died in the hospital. The WWE has paid tribute to him on RAW and with "Warrior Week" on the WWE Network.
