Los Angeles Lakers rumors [VIDEO]: 'Dream scenario' to trade for Kevin Love, bring California native, UCLA star home?

The Los Angeles Lakers missed the playoffs this season for the first time since 2005 and will enter the NBA's draft lottery, however their main focus is on a top power forward that is already in the league, Kevin Love of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Due to the way the lottery is structured, the Lakers are unlikely to land the top pick in the NBA Draft after finishing with a 27-55 mark for fifth in the Pacific Division and are entering an offseason full of question marks as to personnel changes on the court and on the sidelines with coach Mike D'Antoni.

With the Lakers planning to rebuild through the draft and not through free agency until 2015, the team has a "dream scenario" of making a trade to acquire Love, according to Forbes.

Love has been linked to the Lakers in speculation for months as the Santa Monica native would love to be close to home in Los Angeles and it appears as though the Lakers are looking to offer their first round pick to Minnesota in exchange for Love, which the team may accept if it believes that Love will walk in 2015.

According to Forbes, the "dream scenarios" for the Lakers include landing a healthy Joel Embiid by nabbing the first overall draft pick in the lottery or acquiring Love from Minnesota in exchange for their first-round selection.

With the power forward likely to depart the Timberwolves in 2015 through free agency and Los Angeles seemingly a place he'd like to go, it is possible that the 'Wolves may mull a deal with the Lakers to bring Love to Los Angeles before the NBA Draft.
