Barack Obama: 'Scared' President Plays Soccer with Japanese Robot, Worse than Toronto Mayor Rob Ford? [VIDEO]

President Barack Obama is world-renown for his basketball skills—well, that and his ability to govern a nation—but what of his footballing capabilities?

In a recent trip to Japan, the president visited a childlike robot in the city of Miraikan. Asimo, the created product of Honda, didn't share the same limitations as other technological advances. No, this one could "run really fast." Perhaps of more importance though, was Asimo's ability to kick a soccer ball. One was subsequently sent in the direction of President Obama.

His poor first touch, however, sent the ball five yards ahead of his frame.

To say a feathery deft touch isn't in his arsenal is an understatement, but given his current day job, footy fans across the globe are willing to give it a pass. Probably not one he can receive, though.

With the trivial visit done and dusted, President Obama admitted to be a bit shook following his robotic encounter (h/t to the Sentinel and Enterprise). "I have to say the robots were a little scary," he said afterward.

"They were too life-like."

This isn't the first time a politician famously put his soccer skills on display. Not all have turned out to be as impressive as that of Toronto mayor Rob Ford. Especially when it's tested against a child.

Visiting a youth soccer camp for underprivileged children in April, Ford offered to take a few attempts at goal. The result: One merciless shot after another in the direction of one of the camp's participants. "Subtlety" and the ability to understand the moment has apparently vacated the controversial mayor's conscience.

At least—unlike President Obama—he showed proper technique when wrapping his dress shoes around the ball, breaking the spirits of an underprivileged child.
