Larry Johnson is responding to the Donald Sterling controversy by reasserting his belief blacks should seek to have a league of their own.
"Black people your (sic) focusing on the wrong thing," Johnson tweeted in the wake of revelations Sterling allegedly scolded a girlfriend "not to bring black people to my games."

The outspoken former New York Knicks star forward long nicknamed "Grandma Ma" in Reebok sneaker commercials of yesteryear added "we should be focusing on having our own, Own team own league. To For Self."
Over the course of his 11-year career, the No. 1 pick in the 1991 draft often dominated the league as if it was his own. He averaged 16 points, eight rebounds and three assists over his career, including leading the Knicks to the NBA Finals in 1999 against San Antonio.

During those Finals, the now 41-year-old Johnson told reporters of the Knicks "we've got a lot of rebellious slaves on this Knicks team... I'm supposed to be honored and happy or whatever by my success. Yes, I am. But I can't deny the fact of what has happened to us over years and years and years and we're still at the bottom of the totem pole."
Johnson now works for the Knicks as a basketball and business operations representatives.
