Tonight at 9:00 p.m. ET, the Colorado Avalanche and Minnesota Wild take the ice at Xcel Energy Center for Game 6 of their best-of-seven Round 1 Stanley Cup Playoffs Series. The game can be live streamed for free here. Colorado fans can hear all of the action on KRWZ 950 while Minnesota fans can do the same on 830 WCCO.
Colorado is looking to close out the series on the road and get into Round 2 while Minnesota hopes to win a game on home ice to force a decisive Game 7 back at the Pepsi Center in Colorado.
The Avalanche have yet to win in Minnesota during this series, notching victories in Games 1, 2 and 5 at home while the Wild picked up home-ice victories in Games 3 and 4.
The Avalanche hope to be the first team to win a road game in this series, but they may have to do so without Matt Duchene, who hasn't skated in the first five games and is still questionable.
"We're going to be patient," Avalanche coach Patrick Roy said of Duchene per NHL.com. "We're going to see how he feels after the morning skate. Then we'll make a decision."
The Wild know what it's like to be behind the eight-ball as the team crawled out of a 2-0 hole by winning two straight games at home to nod up the series before falling into a 3-2 hole with the Game 5 loss.
"I thought that was a similar situation," Mikko Koivu told NHL.com about the similarities of Games 3 and 4 to Game 6. "Obviously, we recognize what's on the line. It's all about preparation right now and we'll be ready when the puck drops."
Koivu (0-3--3) is tied for third on the team with Jason Pominville (0-3--3) and Mikael Granlund (1-2--3) as each has three points while Charlie Coyle ranks fourth on the team with a club-best three tallies while adding one helper for four points and Zach Parise has a team-best six points by lighting the lamp once and adding five assists in the first five games.
Nathan MacKinnon has paced the Avalanche with 10 points off of two goals and eight assists while Paul Stastny has three markers and five helpers for eight points in the series and Gabriel Landeskog and Ryan O'Reilly have each found the twine twice while adding two assists for four points.
Semyon Varlamov will man the crease again for Colorado after yielding 12 goals on 175 shots through the first five games while Darcy Kuemper will be between the pipes for Minnesota after allowing five goals on 83 shots in three starts and four appearances.
The Avalanche look to close out the series on the road while the Wild hope that home ice will help the team again in Game 6 when the lights come up tonight at the Xcel Energy Center in Minnesota.
