New Montreal Alouettes wide receiver Chad Johnson had the audacity to compare himself to the late Dr. Martin Luther King.
Of course, Johnson had to tear King's reputation to shreds to make the comparison.
Larry Brown Sports reported that Johnson engaged in a recent interview with Peter Bailey, host and owner of the webcast, "NiteCap With Peter Bailey," in which he talked about cheating on ex-wife Evelyn Lozada.
Both Bailey and Johnson reveal that "men love sex," according to Larry Brown Sports, which often causes their infidelity.
The former Cincinnati Bengals wideout, however, defended his decision to cheat on his wife.
"Nobody said it had to be the way it is. We all trying to follow rules, somebody made those rules up. Nobody said you had to be with one woman," Johnson said. "Nobody said that."
The video, which Bailey released exclusively to thegrio.com, then cut away to another portion of the interview around King, in which Bailey was trying to make a point about King's vision paving the way for African Americans such as Johnson to have such freedoms as he has.
That's when the former "Ochocinco" talked about King's own infidelity.
"If Dr. King and these guys were realists, we wouldn't be sitting right here. You wouldn't be sitting in this big house," Bailey said in the video.
"What was Dr. King doing behind the closed doors?" Johnson asked. "Don't sugarcoat it."
Bailey responded, "It's been documented the man had infidelity issues."
"You don't want to say hoein'? Why don't you just say hoein'?" said Johnson.
Whether he was trying to make himself look better or simply make King look bad, Johnson succeeded at making himself look like a clueless athlete.
