The link between the Browns and Cousins comes from new Cleveland offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan, who coached Cousins in Washington. The link between the two could prompt the Browns to buy high of Cousins with Shanahan’s blessing and support a trade if they don’t like the options at No. 26.
The Browns have been a huge part of the rumor mill for the past week as they were rumored to be “locked into” Johnny Manziel at No. 4 overall before Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer swatted that idea down. Now the Browns are rumored to be “enamored” with Teddy Bridgewater at No. 26 if he were to fall to them.
The Browns are looking to start a quarterback competition as early as possible and if Cleveland were to add a player like Cousins or a player like Bridgewater they are well on their way to returning to contention. Kirk Cousins, Teddy Bridgewater and Derek Carr seem to be the finalists for the starting job in Cleveland and in one day we will find out how the dominoes fall.
