Tampa Bay Buccaneers Draft Texas A&M Mike Evans No. 7 Overall

At No. 7 overall the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have drafted Texas A&M wide receiver, Mike Evans

Pros:
- Freakish size
- Unparalleled body control
- Physical with defense
- Runs great routes
- Yards after catch

Cons:
- Hands
- Can’t consistently separate
- Fast start, but doesn't maintain speed
- Two Vincent Jacksons on same team?

Analysis: The Buccaneers lucked out as Evans was flying up draft boards right before the draft and was rumored to the Oakland Raiders at No. 5. Some teams had Evans ranked above top prospect Sammy Watkins so this is a home run for the Bucs. Josh McCown has to be thrilled with the weapons he will have in his stay in Tampa Bay and also that he won’t have Johnny Manziel breathing down his neck.

The Buccaneers could have drafted Taylor Lewan here, but pairing Evans with Jackson will pay bigger dividends much quicker than if they drafted a player to protect McCown. Another winner in the first 10 picks is the Bucs who have to be excited about getting Evans into camp.

Grade: A
Nothing to report here everyone, Lovie Smith and company made a great pick that will make the Bucs a very fun team to watch in 2014.

Other Picks:
1. Houston Texans: Jadeveon Clowney
2. St. Louis Rams: Greg Robinson
3. Jacksonville Jaguars: Blake Bortles
4. Buffalo Bills: Sammy Watkins
5. Oakland Raiders: Khalil Mack
6. Atlanta Falcons: Jake Matthews
