US Weekly reports Roc Nation Sports founder Jay Z may have been attacked by wife Beyonce's younger sister in a hotel elevator because she "flipped out over something Jay said that she took the wrong way."
Video footage emerged on Monday showing Solange Knowles punching and at least trying to kick the former Brooklyn Nets minority owner as they rode down on an elevator together while leaving a recent Met Gala in NYC's Meatpacking District.

With Beyonce standing by, several media outlets have reported Knowles landed at least three blows before being restrained and now the magazine is reporting it all may have stemmed from a simple misunderstanding.
"She took it too hard or too far," a source told US Weekly of whatever provoked the 27-year-old Knowles. "Not sure what it was, but she greatly overreacted."

As much as for its volatility, the incident took many by surprise based on its unlikely nature. Over the years, Jay and Solange have appeared to be close, hanging out side-by-side with Beyonce as recently as last month at the Coachella Music festival. In addition, the two sat next to one another at last year's Grammy Awards, and in 2010 the hip hop icon brought Knowles' young son, Julez, onstage with him as he accepted a Grammy.
It's been quite the year for the hip hop mogul, who after selling off his Nets shares formally launched Roc Nation, which in its first full year of operation has landed such high-profile clients as Kevin Durant, Robinson Cano, Geno Smith, Victor Cruz, CC Sabathia, Hakeem Nicks, Geno Smith and the WNBA's Skylar Diggins.
