Los Angeles Lakers Rumors: Byron Scott Interviews for L.A. Coaching Job, Warns Kobe Bryant Must Change [VIDEO]

The reports that Byron Scott has interviewed for the Lakers head coaching job have been confirmed, but what Scott said after has everyone talking. In an interview with ESPN, Scott said he believes Kobe Bryant needs to change his game if Scott is going to be his new, and maybe last, head coach.

The situation went from zero to 60 rather quickly as Scott openly spoke about the coaching position after nothing concrete tied Scott to the Lakers. Scott spoke about what he expects if he were to land the job.

If Scott is up to the task, he has much rebuilding to do in Los Angeles as the Lakers do not have much talent to speak of. Bryant is nearing the end of his career and has been battered by injuries and no one knows if Pau Gasol will even be in town next season.

Scott is a former player of the Lakers and won three championships with the team in 1985, 1987 and 1988. When the Lakers do hire someone as they head coach, he will be the fourth person, including interim coach Bernie Bickerstaff, to man the bench in Staples Center since Phil Jackson left for good in 2011.
