Miami Heat Indiana Pacers Game 3: Paul George Cleared to Play for Game 3 After Suffering Concussion [VIDEO]

Indiana Pacers forward Paul George has been approved to play Saturday night for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals when they face the Heat in Miami, the team announced Friday night.

Yahoo! Sports reports that the team announced that the All-Star has been cleared "to return to normal basketball activity,'' after George suffered a concussion Tuesday night in Game 2, which the Heat won, 87-83 -- the series tied 1-1.

The announcement was not a surprise after all as George had always said he'll be available for the critical third game of the series. Miami Heat star LeBron James, when asked the possibility of George not suiting up for Game 3, reportedly retorted: "Why wouldn't he?"

The injury occurred when George's head collided with Dwyane Wade's knee as they scrambled for a loose ball during the fourth quarter of the game. Still, the Pacers forward was kept in the game although he was unable to prevent the duo of James and Wade from taking control in the final minutes. The Heat and Pacers resume their series on Saturday night.

After the game, George told reporters he 'blacked out' after colliding with Wade but team doctors said they were not informed by the two-time All-Star during the course of the game.

The Pacers need more of George this series if they want to dethrone the defending champion Heat. George has been spectacular in the playoffs, averaging 21.5 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the postseason. He is also the team's leader in minutes played with 41.3.
