According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, the injury-plagued Mysterio is sticking around for another year as an active competitor in the WWE after CEO Vince McMahon renewed his contract. According to the report, the deal expired weeks ago but Mysterio received word that McMahon renewed it for one more year.

Mysterio's contract reportedly didn't have a one-year option to be renewed in his contract, but WWE contracts are allowed to be frozen in the event of an injury and the former two-time World Heavyweight Champion has spent a lot of time on the shelf during his WWE stint.

The WWE's internal thinking is that Mysterio missed so much time during his contract due to various injuries that he owes the company time. Due to that, he was renewed through May 2015. Whether wrestling or not, Mysterio makes the WWE a lot of money through merchandise, especially with the sales of his mask.

Mysterio is sidelined with a hand injury, so it's unknown when he will return.

As for Christian, he is currently dealing with a concussion and there are some people within the WWE that are hopeful to ink him to a producer/agent deal when his contract as a wrestler is up as he is expected to retire soon as an in-ring wrestler.

Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that prior to the recent concussion, there was talk backstage that Christian's in-ring career was winding down and he is expected to retire sometime within the next year.

Mysterio and Christian aren't actively on WWE television right now, but each man is expected to have some big roles in the future with the company.
