For the first time in close to a decade the X Games will expand to a city it isn't accustomed to. Out goes the likes of Los Angeles and in comes the new city of Austin, Texas. This X Games plans to deliver on both excitement and surprises as many story lines will take off from the fantastic city of Austin.
On the first night of the X Games, Jamie Bestwick walked away with his ninth consecutive gold medal in the BMX Vert. Bestwick held off Simon Tabron and Dennis McCoy, who took silver and bronze, from breaking his streak that is one away from a decade long.
"When I broke the record last year, that was stressful," said Bestwick, who set the X Games mark for the most consecutive wins last year with his eighth victory in a row at X Games Barcelona. "I really wanted that record. Everything after that is just seeing how long it can hold up."
Tonights events include the BMX Street Round One & Final, Men's Skateboard Street Elimination, Men’s and Women's Enduro X Finals, Men's Moto X Best Whip Final, Moto X Step-Up Final and Skateboard Big Air Final.
