With WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan still recovering from neck surgery, the plans for WWE Money in the Bank are up in the air, though a second ladder match may be included for the card on June 29 at the TD Garden in Boston.
Sting Debuting On Next Week's RAW?
Stephanie McMahon announced on Monday Night RAW last week that Bryan must defend his title against Kane in a Stretcher Match at the show and if he can't compete due to the injury, he will forfeit the title. The title would then be up for grabs in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match rather than the usual briefcase with a contract inside.
According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, the reason the WWE is doing this is because they don't want to run a pay-per-view without the title at stake.

Even though there was no championship match between Bryan and Kane at Payback, there was at least a feeling the title was at stake with the in-ring segment between Bryan and McMahon that led to Brie Bella quitting so that Bryan could hang onto the belt rather than relinquish it.
Bryan was slated to face Kane in a Buried Alive match at the June 1 pay-per-view, but the WWE had to switch its plans due to the neck surgery. Bryan and Kane were going to have a Buried Alive match at Money in the Bank, but the WWE opted to dub it a Stretcher Match in order to continue the feud.
Wrestlingheadlines.com also reports that if the title indeed has to be on the line in the ladder match, the company will run a second ladder match for the briefcase due to the fact that having a contender carry around the briefcase adds to the storylines and intrigue in the title picture.
Having just the one ladder match for the title would eliminate the possibility of a storyline where the winner of the ladder match can cash in anytime he wants and becomes a threat to the champion. WWE officials hope that Bryan and Kane will be good to go so that only the one ladder match is necessary.
With a fairly thin roster when it comes to championship contenders, two ladder matches may be tough for the company to pull off without including Superstars that have absolutely no shot of winning the match.
Thus far, Alberto Del Rio is the only man to qualify for the match, but Cesaro has been rumored to be the favorite to win so he will likely get into it shortly. There will most likely be seven participants in the match, and the WWE will roll out some more qualifying matches the next few weeks on Monday Night RAW.
Money in the Bank airs live on June 29 from the TD Garden in Boston, and based on the next few weeks the card may in fact fluctuate.
