Steve Kerr plans to get a headstart in his new profession by coaching the Golden State Warriors summer league team.
According to ProBasketballTalk.com, the 48-year-old Kerr will be on hand to guide the Warriors squad playing in the Las Vegas summer league.

"Yes, I will coach summer league," Kerr, who replaced Mark Jackson, told the website.
The man who spurned Phil Jackson and the Knicks, who were seeking his services for the same job, is also hard at work trying to assemble a staff. ProBasketball reported one of the names most prominently mentioned as a potential candidate is David Blatt, who has a reputation as an offensive genius based on his work abroad.
Citing a desire to be close to his California-based family instead of in New York, Kerr signed a five-year, $25 million deal with the Warriors back in May. Despite having led the team to its first 50-win season in nearly two decades and back-to-back playoff berths, the Warriors had parted ways with Jackson just days before.
Unique as it may be, Kerr's decision to coach summer league isn't unprecedented. Jason Kidd coached the Nets summer league team in Orlando just last season.
Though he has no coaching experience, Kerr once served as a general manager with the Phoenix Suns and won five titles as a player with the Bulls and Spurs.
The Knicks this week announced Derek Fisher as their new coach.
