Ray Rice Suspension Rumors: Ravens Running Back Meets With Roger Goodell; Expected to Miss 4-6 Games? [VIDEO]

Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice has had an offseason to forget considering the alleged assault charge from back in February. Rice and his wife met with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to speak about the incident and hear Rice’s side.

Reports from sources close to the situation believe that Rice will get a "significant" suspension that could be anywhere from four to six games.

Rice is under scrutiny for an incident in which he allegedly knocked his then-fiance, Janay Palmer, unconscious in a casino.  Surveillance video captured the scene and both parties were charged in the incident, but Rice could have the assault charge dropped if he completes a “pretrial intervention program” he was accepted into in May.

Rice is a three-time Pro Bowler and has 6,180 rushing yards and 37 rushing touchdowns in his six-year career. Regardless of his punishment, the Ravens could be looking to shift toward a two-back system considering that Rice had injury issues in 2013 that affected his play. Ravens backup running back Bernard Pierce is expected to see an extended role this season and that is only enhanced as Rice is expected to miss time due to suspension.
