The joy of winning a Super Bowl in February hasn't transferred over to Seattle Seahawks minicamp here in June. The defending Super Bowl champs got into a scuffle during minicamp Wednesday, at the center of which was $56 million man Richard Sherman.

According to ESPN, Sherman and wide receiver Phil Bates came to blows during a practice session, leading to the offensive and defensive units getting into a scuffle.
Nobody was injured as a result, but Sherman and Bates each landed blows on each other's heads in a situation that began one play earlier when Bryan Walters made a diving catch on the sidelines while being blanketed by safety Earl Thomas, who fell on him after the play.

Walters hurt his right shoulder on the play and receiver Doug Baldwin was up in arms due to Thomas landing on Walters in a non-tackle scrimmage. The following play, Sherman covered Bates and the two got into it while grabbing onto each other, leading to Sherman removing Bates' helmet before punches flew. Sherman eventually lost his helmet as well.
Receiver Percy Harvin then pushed Sherman as running back Marshawn Lynch, who wasn't practicing due to a bad ankle, came in to pull Harvin away. Coach Pete Carroll then halted practice to talk to his players in the middle of the field.
"He just told us we needed to regain our focus and remember why we're out here,'' middle linebacker Bobby Wagner told reporters. "Things got a little out of hand, but it was a lot of fun. I loved it. It felt like a game out there. And I felt like the defense won today."
Thomas and Baldwin also had a screaming match after practice.
"Sometimes you say things you don't really mean," Thomas said afterward. "But we're all men out there. In the end, we're all teammates."
While the practice was mostly heated, Sherman and Bates talked it out afterward and everyone was back on the same page.
"We're all so competitive," Thomas said. "If you press one of our buttons, everybody is gonna clear the benches."
While they weren't too happy Wednesday, the Seahawks were all smiles on Feb. 2 after Super Bowl XLVIII when the team notched its first title in franchise history with a 43-8 defeat of the Denver Broncos.
The team is looking to duplicate that feat this season, and despite a hectic day at practice, Seattle will look to put up a united front when the season gets underway this fall.
If they treat their opponents as tough as they treated each other Wednesday, the Seahawks could have a great chance of repeating as champions.
