Luis Suarez Transfer: Barcelona To Sign Uruguay Ace For £52 million? [VIDEO]

It looks like Barcelona has upended rival Real Madrid in bidding for the services of Premier League leading scorer Luis Suarez, who is reportedly on his way to Barcelona.

Citing reports from Spanish paper El Mundo Deportivo, the Daily Mail UK says Suarez will sign a £52 million contract with Barcelona.

According to 101greatgoals.com, Deportivo also claims that Suarez has links with Barcelona, being the place where his daughter was born and that "Luis has always left the door open to Barca."

Should the report turn out to be true, Barcelona will be headlined with a three-headed monster composed of Suarez, Lionel Messi and Neymar. The deposed La Liga champions also bid for the services of Manchester United striker Robin van Persie and midfielder Marco Reus before bidding for Suarez. The Uruguayan star recently scored two goals to lead his country over England and practically eliminate the Englishmen from the World Cup. Suarez scored 31 goals in 33 games for Liverpool last season.

Suarez showed everyone that he is still one of the game's most lethal weapons when he scored twice for Uruguay on Thursday night despite returning early from a knee injury. The 27-year-old has been also one of the most controversial figures in the game, being banned for racism and for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic.

The potential signing of Suarez marks a serious offseason build-up for the deposed champions, with new manager Luis Enrique making good on the team's vow to net a top-notch striker. Aside from netting 31 goals in 33 appearances for Liverpool, Suarez was the Premier League player of the year.
