LeBron James To Cleveland Scenarios: Can Cavaliers Convince Free Agents To Join Kyrie Irving? [VIDEO]

What would it take for the Cleveland Cavaliers to land LeBron James now that he is an unrestricted free agent? If you are the Cavaliers, do you make a trade for a big star with the NBA Draft’s first overall pick or do you use it to take Jabari Parker or Andrew Wiggins?

The Cavaliers have to be ecstatic with the news that James will be a free agent come July 1, but do they really have a claim to the man they drafted in 2002? The Cavaliers have a few scenarios in which I believe they can come away with James.

Kevin Love: The Cavaliers have the first overall pick and could be looking to move Jarret Jack, Anthony Bennett and Dion Waiters while the Minnesota Timberwolves might have to unload Kevin Love before he leaves in 2015. These two teams could do each other a huge favor for the future of their franchises. If the Cavaliers are serious about pursuing James, bringing in Love and holding onto Kyrie Irving would probably be the best way to lure him away from Miami. Imagine that big three with Love, James and Irving while still holding onto Anderson Varejao and Tristan Thompson.

The No. 1 Overall Selection & Carmelo Anthony:  Rumor has it that Anthony and James want to play together and that Melo is to be courted by the Miami Heat. The Heat won't have enough salary cap space to accommodate the big four and as much as Carmelo wants to win, losing so much money may not be in his best interest. The Cavaliers are one of the few teams that have enough cap space to make lucrative offers to Carmelo and LeBron, while also having leverage to keep Irving in town. By signing Carmelo to be the third part of the new big three, the Cavaliers will be able to hold onto the No. 1 pick and take their choice of Parker and Wiggins to further their claim as contenders as both are expected to be franchise-caliber players.

There you have it. Whether the Cavaliers want to attempt to obtain Kevin Love via trade or sign Carmelo Anthony, Cleveland has a legitimate case to pitch to LeBron James. LeBron has made the first move, but the Cavaliers will soon make the second when they make their decision at the NBA Draft.
