MLB Trade Rumors: David Price In 'Bad Mood' As Rays May Deal Him [VIDEO]

The Tampa Bay Rays sitting in last place isn't the only thing getting to ace David Price, as the constant trade rumors surrounding the southpaw have put him in a bad mood.

"I mean, obviously I think about it," Price told reporters on Tuesday. "That's why I've been in a bad mood the last week and a half. I think about it. You guys know that. And it's nothing I really want to talk about."

Despite the rumors, Price doesn't know if the Rays will pull the trigger on a deal and he's not looking to speculate where he will be going.

"I don't have an answer for you guys," he said. "I don't know where I'm going. I don't know when I'm going. So there's nothing I can really comment on."

While the Rays haven't openly shopped the 2012 AL Cy Young Award winner, there has been some speculation that Tampa Bay may move him soon as the July 31 MLB trade deadline approaches. The Rays enter Wednesday an MLB-worst 31-48, meaning there could be some big moves in Tampa Bay in the coming weeks.

Price, 28, is 5-7 this season with a 3.81 ERA and 1.12 WHIP while he leads the MLB with 133 strikeouts including fanning 43 batters in his last four starts over 31.1 innings. The southpaw is arbitration eligible in 2015 and becomes a free agent in 2016.

Rays manager Joe Maddon said he realizes that his ace feels horrible about the rumors and told reporters that there isn't anything he can say that will make his ace feel better.

"He needs to feel my support all the time, and I hope he does," Maddon told reporters. "Beyond all that, part of this is it's a business, and sometimes when you get caught up in the business component, it makes it uncomfortable. ... I think part of it's complimentary. Part of it is disconcerting. I think a guy like him has been through a lot of different moments and always has been able to handle them."

Price is a three-time MLB All-Star and was the AL wins and ERA leader when he won the Cy Young Award in 2012.

Price is 76-46 in his career with a 3.26 ERA and 1,009 strikeouts, and it is possible that the Rays ace will be on the move this summer.
