NBA Draft Rumors: Sim Bhullar Goes Undrafted; Indian Born Big Man Drawing Interest Harlem Globetrotters [VIDEO]

7-Foot-5 Sim Bhullar was not taken in Thursday’s NBA Draft and failed to become the first Indian player to be drafted. Although this one accomplishment eluded him for one day, Bhullar is now considered one of the most interesting undrafted free agents of the class.

Bhullar has not made a statement concerning his situation, but he has plenty of people in his corner that are critical that he wasn't drafted. Jason Groves of the Las Cruces Sun-News is one such supporter and he spoke about the stigma of being a bigger man in the NBA.

“Critics quick to point out Bhullar's lack of conditioning as a reason he wouldn't be a successful pro are missing the fact that after two record-setting seasons at NMSU, Bhullar gains nothing from going against 6-foot-5 post players in the Western Athletic Conference. Or that college players are limited to eight hours a week with the NMSU coaching staff this time of year.

Men of Bhullar's stature don't have a proven track record of long-tenured careers, at least not in the NBA. He suffered a foot injury during his redshirt season of 2011-12, then missed five games this year with another foot injury.”

In his time at New Mexico State, Bhullar averaged 10.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.4 blocks per game and was a two-time WAC Tournament MVP for the Aggies. Bhullar was drafted by the Harlem Globetrotters on Tuesday, but his future with the NBA is in question now that his name wasn't called Thursday in the Barclay Center.
