LeBron James Free Agency: Giving Pat Riley Ultimatum To Improve Roster the Answer? [VIDEO]

LeBron James would be hard-pressed to lose more credibility during his current spin with free agency than he did in 2010 with "The Decision."

LeBron James' legacy should be compared to that of Deion Sanders, not Michael Jordan

But he seems to be giving it a shot.

Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted Monday night that King James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh have "generously" agreed to give Miami Heat team president Pat Riley a window to find other free agents to add to the team that will help them compete for a championship in 2014.

This news comes hours after an ESPN report stated that James was seeking a max salary contract next season. So it sounds as if Bosh and Wade will be the ones to sacrifice salary if the Big Three are going to stay together. Chris Bosh puts pressure on LeBron James and Dwyane Wade to re-sign with the Heat According to CBSSports.com, Riley can present options to the Big Three, that if they sign for a certain amount, that leaves Riley the remainder to sign the free agent they agree can help put them back in contention for a title. But that logic is in direct contrast with the ESPN report that James wants a max deal - unless Bosh and Wade are willing to accept a far lesser salary than King James. Or is that Dictator James? And as ESPN reported, if James demands a max contract deal, the Heat would have trouble signing other free agents even if Bosh and Wade accept pay cuts.

James has said that all he wants to do is win, but asking for a max deal anywhere jeopardizes that possibility. Wherever he goes, other players are going to have to sacrifice to make room for him.

Lost in all the confusion is the fact that James has demonstrated zero loyalty to Riley, who rescued James out of Cleveland and put him on a team that went to four consecutive NBA Finals. And now if Riley says he can bring in Kevin Love and Carmelo Anthony, and James doesn't think that's enough, he's just going to bolt?

The only certainty is James is poised to make the 2014 free agency period another wild ride.
