Arizona looks to salvage the final game of the series to conclude a nine-game road trip it is 3-6 on while Atlanta hopes to sweep the series and win its 10th straight game to finish its homestand at 6-0. The Braves topped the Diamondbacks 5-2 Friday and then followed it up with a 10-4 drubbing Saturday.

Arizona enters play in last place in the National League West while Atlanta is in first place in the NL East.

Wade Miley (3-6, 4.61 ERA) toes the rubber for the Diamondbacks while the Braves counter with Alex Wood, who is 6-6 with a 3.19 ERA.

Miley dominated the Pirates his last time out, holding them to two hits through eight innings before letting the first two batters that faced him in the ninth inning on base and getting pulled as Pittsburgh eventually walked-off.

"Obviously, in the moment, it's frustrating when it happened, but you've got to take the positives out of that -- the eight innings," he told MLB.com afterward.

Wood is coming off of an outing where he allowed a run in each of the first three innings in his last start but then settled down.

"I picked up my tempo a little bit," Wood said via MLB.com.. "After the first three, I started working a little faster and going at them a little more [aggressively]."

Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman is hitting .294 with 13 homers and 47 RBI and ranks tied for fourth in the NL with 60 runs scored and fifth with 168 total bases.

Diamondbacks first baseman Paul Goldschmidt is hitting .306 with 15 homers and is first in the NL in doubles (32), second in runs (63) and total bases (181), third in slugging percentage (.544) and fourth in OPS (.938).

The Diamondbacks look to avoid a sweep while the Braves hope for their 10th straight win when these clubs take the field this afternoon at Turner Field in Atlanta.
