7 Alejandro Valverde Movistar +4:01
8 Pierre Roland Europcar +4:07
9 Alberto Contador Tinkoff-Saxo +4:08
10 Romain Bardet AG2R +4:13
Tony Gallopin of team Lotto-Belisol leads the pack and wears the yellow jersey after nine stages of the tour. Gallopin will look to add to his 94 second lead on Astana’s Vincenzo Nibali and NetApp’s Tiago Machado as the tour heads deeper into the mountains.
Gallopin surged to the top of the leaderboard in the previous stages and holds a solid minute and a half lead on the field. The mountain stages have been good to Gallopin while completely abusing the rest of the field. Tony Martin won stage nine handily even though the cyclist is known for his performances in the time trial stages as opposed to the open route.
Stage 10 is seen as the stage that will separate the field into contenders and pretenders. The cyclists that come out of this stage in the top 10 will have put themselves in a fantastic position to take the entire tour.
This would be Tony Martin 3rd stage win at the Tour de France. He has 2 time-trial stage wins; this would be his first road stage. #TdF
