The WWE presented WWE Battleground tonight from the Tampa Bay Times Forum in Florida and a new Intercontinental Champion was crowned while John Cena retained his WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
In the main event, Cena successfully defended his WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a Fatal 4 Way against Randy Orton, Roman Reigns and Kane. Cena won the match after Orton hit Reigns with the RKO and Cena delivered the Attitude Adjustment to Orton onto Kane and pinned Kane to retain his title.
There is a new Intercontinental Champion as The Miz won the 20-man battle royal for the vacant belt after hiding outside of the ring and sneaking up to eliminate Dolph Ziggler.
The singles match between Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose was canceled after Ambrose attacked Rollins backstage and Triple H threw him out of the arena. Rollins then went to the ring later on in the show and was awarded a victory by forfeit. Ambrose then snuck back into the arena and attacked Rollins until Triple H came out to help him.
Elsewhere, Chris Jericho defeated Bray Wyatt in a singles match after hitting the Codebreaker and pinning him for the win.
The Usos successfully defended the WWE Tag Team Championships by defeating Luke Harper and Erick Rowan in a two out of three falls match. Harper and Rowan won the first fall when Harper hit a big boot on Jimmy. The Usos took Round 2 when one of them rolled up Harper. The Usos wrapped up the third fall after both members of the team hit a big splash from the top on Harper.
AJ Lee successfully defended her Divas Championship against Paige and pinned her after hitting the Shining Wizard.
Rusev defeated Jack Swagger in singles action by countout after Rusev knocked Swagger head-first into the ring post and beat the count back in for the win.
There were two pre-show matches as Adam Rose defeated Fandango with the Party Foul and Cameron defeated Naomi with a roll up for a pinfall victory.
