Floyd Mayweather, Justin Bieber Race Controversy: 'Money' Claims Racial Profiling After Reporter Calls Them 'Oddest Matchup' [VIDEO]

Questions have popped up constantly surrounding Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s friendship with pop icon Justin Bieber since he started showing up in Mayweather's entourage before big fights, and apparently Floyd's tired of them. When a reporter asked about his friendships with Bieber and Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel, the pound-for-pound king of boxing took offense.

A Chicago reporter named Peggy Kusinski said "People think that's the oddest matchup, you two together," to Mayweather, who responded with "Uh, to me it seems like that's kind of racial profiling to me."

Gloves won't impact Mayweather-Maidana II

Kusinski shot back by making it about the music, asking Mayweather if he was a fan of Bieber's work but the boxer evaded the redirection and stayed on point. "I'm just saying, I mean, why? You don't know what kind of music I listen to, do you?" Kusinski tried one more time, saying, "No that's why I asked you."

Mayweather's final retort was, "So that's racial profiling."

The interview was an awkward one for both the reporter and the typically loquacious Mayweather, who has become the highest-paid athlete in the world as much for his promotional and verbal might as his in-ring mastery. However, at this point in his career, stepping outside his home is enough to get Mayweather plastered all over the internet.

Mayweather not only fighting Maidana in September, but critics too

Recently Mayweather, Manziel, and Fast and Furious star Tyrese Gibson were all snapping selfies at a house party hosted by Bieber which was reportedly busted up by Beverly Hills police. When TMZ had caught up with Mayweather a day later he kept his advice to Bieber short and sweet-- "Justin, keep partying like a rockstar."

Mayweather's slated to get back in the ring on Sept. 13, in a rematch of one of his most competitive fights in years against Marcos "El Chino" Maidana on Showtime pay-per-view. The fight will be at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
