SummerSlam 2014 Rumors: John Cena Responds To Announcement That Brock Lesnar Will Face Him In The Main Event [VIDEO]

John Cena was not at Monday Night RAW this week where it was revealed that he will defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, but the "Cenation leader" made his first comments since the match was announced.

Cena took to Twitter to respond to the fact that he will defend his title against "The Beast," who is coming off of making history at WrestleMania XXX when he ended The Streak of The Undertaker on April 6 in New Orleans.

"You either die a hero or live long enough to become a villian.True or not I am and have always been me.Thru crisis or triumph #nevergiveup," Cena wrote on his official @JohnCena Twitter account.

The Undertaker Doubtful For WrestleMania 31

It was revealed on RAW that Cena and Lesnar will highlight the biggest show of the summer when Triple H came out to the arena to announce that Randy Orton was the No. 1 contender, but Orton was attacked by Roman Reigns.

Paul Heyman then came out and promoted a "Plan C," leading to Lesnar returning and shaking Triple H's hand to signify Lesnar being the new No. 1 contender. Cena wasn't at the show because he was filming Judd Apatow's Trainwreck movie, so his tweet was the first response to the reported match.

Reigns attacking Orton also likely set up a match between them for SummerSlam. There have been reports that the WWE had planned long ago for the four main matches at SummerSlam to be Lesnar vs. Cena, Reigns vs. Orton, Chris Jericho vs. Bray Wyatt and Stephanie McMahon vs. Brie Bella.

Jericho defeated Wyatt at Battleground this past Sunday after Vince McMahon changed the ending to have Jericho go over instead of Wyatt, leading to another match at SummerSlam.

Bella and McMahon have been feuding over McMahon's treatment of Bella's husband Daniel Bryan, and after the two had a segment on RAW that led to McMahon slapping Bella and then getting arrested, the seeds are already being planted for that bout.

There is also a rumored match between WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz and WWE United States Champion Sheamus, which could be a title unification match, but it remains to be seen if it will be added.

Lesnar vs. Cena highlights SummerSlam, which emanates live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, Aug. 17.
