After having a solid year with the Oakland Athletics in 2013, the New York Mets signed Colon and they could now be gearing up to trade him to the San Francisco Giants ahead of the July 31 MLB non-waiver trade deadline.
Colon, 41, takes the ball for the Mets on Wednesday in the rubber match of their three-game set with the Seattle Mariners in what could prove to be his last start for the Amazin's.

According to ESPNDesportes.com, the Giants have shown interest in the right-hander and could strike a deal with the Mets prior to next week's deadline to add Colon to the rotation. Colon is owed $9 million this season and $11 million next season.
Colon is 8-8 in 19 games on the 2014 campaign with a 4.12 ERA and has struggled a bit aside from a stretch in the middle of the first half when he was lights-out.
The Mets are deep when it comes to their starting rotation, especially in 2015 when Matt Harvey is expected to return from Tommy John surgery, so there have been reports that the team was willing to deal Colon to a team in need of a boost to their rotation in the midst of a playoff push, and the Giants fit that description.
The New York Post reported that the Giants would only take Colon, 41, if the Mets opted to pay a large chunk of the $11 million he is owed next season.
The Mets enter play Wednesday with a 47-53 record and are nine games behind the division-leading Washington Nationals while they are also seven games out of the second wild-card spot, which means they will likely be sellers or standing pat come July 31.
The Giants, meanwhile, are 56-44 and currently hold on to the National League West division lead, but it will be a dog fight with the Los Angeles Dodgers for the rest of the season so the team could use all hands on deck.
Colon thrived when he played across the Bay Bridge in Oakland in 2013, putting up a 10-8 record with a 2.65 ERA and 117 strikeouts in his second season as a member of the Athletics.
