Kevin Love Trade Rumors: Cavs Still Favorite To Land Timberwolves All-Star [VIDEO]

If the Minnesota Timberwolves decide to pull the trigger on a Kevin Love trade this summer, the most likely landing spot for the three-time All-Star is in Cleveland with the Cavaliers.

ESPN reports that the Cavaliers remain as the front-runner to land Love this offseason, even though a deal likely won't happen for another month. The Cavs signed No. 1 overall pick Andrew Wiggins to a contract this week, and with him being a main piece of the potential deal, they can't trade him until Aug. 23 after signing him per league rules.

The Timberwolves reportedly like the package that Cleveland can put together for them in exchange for Love better than any other offer they've received so far, but it remains to be seen what will happen over the course of the next 30 days.

LeBron James' Business Partner Says He Wasn't Pushed To Return To Cleveland

The Cavaliers have remained confident that they will land Love and pair him with U.S.A. Olympic teammate LeBron James in order to give themselves a better chance at winning an NBA title.

The Chicago Bulls have been aggressive in pursuit of Love, but they signed a few of their rookies that would potentially be in a deal along with Taj Gibson, so they also would have to wait a month before a move can be made.

The Golden State Warriors, which along with Chicago were two places Love was very interested in going, seemed like they were close to acquiring Love earlier this year, but their out-right refusal to include Klay Thompson in a trade has been a deal-breaker up to this point.

The Timberwolves have since then admitted that a trade package for Wiggins is more enticing than one for Thompson, giving the Cavaliers a clear edge in landing Love.

Love has been adamant that he has no intentions of re-signing with Minnesota once his deal expires next summer because he's tired of losing and would like a change of scenery. The Timberwolves have not made the playoffs in a decade and in six years with Love on the roster.

T-Wolves owner Glen Taylor was insistent that he wouldn't part ways with Love, but with Wiggins getting thrown into a potential Cavs deal and Minnesota not wanting to risk losing Love for nothing next summer, a deal could be in place as soon as next month.

Love, 25, averaged 26.1 points, 12.5 rebounds and 4.4 assists in 2013-14 while making the All-Star team for a third time.
