Tonight at 7:05 p.m. ET the New York Yankees (53-48) will kick off a crucial three-game set at home against the Toronto Blue Jays (54-49), a division rival against whom they'll be battling for the rest of the season for American League East supremacy. Watch the game on MLB Network tonight or live stream it online here; Yankees fans can hear the radio broadcast on 101.9 WFAN FM, while Blue Jays fans can catch it on SN590. The Yankees will toss Hiroki Kuroda (6-6, 3.88 ERA) on the hill against left-hander Mark Buehrle (10-6, 2.86 ERA).

These two clubs are in a near dead heat for second place in the division right now, and the Jays might be kicking off this series with the wrong guy. Buehrle in his career vs. the Yankees is a dreadful 1-11 with a 5.83 ERA, and he hasn't gotten a victory in his last eight starts.

"It's too bad he hasn't had a win in so long," manager John Gibbons said. "He's definitely pitched well enough to have a few more under his belt. There's no justice in this business."

The Yankees have won six of their last seven games since the All-Star break, and have gotten very good pitching despite the loss of ace Masahiro Tanaka with a partially torn UCL. "Hopefully it just continues to give us confidence and we build on it and we keep playing extremely well because it's important because the teams in our division are all playing well right now and we need to keep that up," manager Joe Girardi said.

Both teams are on three-game winning streaks. The Yankees are 6-3 in the season series vs. Toronto so far, while Brett Gardner and Jacoby Ellsbury have been the Jays' chief tormentors.
