TNA Wrestling News And Rumors: Impact Wrestling Not Renewed By Spike TV [VIDEO]

It was reported that TNA promoter and president Dixie Carter recently called a meeting at company headquarters last week in Nashville, and it has since been revealed that it was regarding the state of Impact Wrestling on Spike TV.

Two New Matches Rumored For SummerSlam 2014

According to TMZ, Spike TV has let TNA officials know that it will not be renewing the contract for Impact Wrestling when it expires in October.

Multiple sources have revealed that Spike TV executives contacted Carter to break the news that the show will not be picked up come October and Carter met with members of the company's inner-circle to break the news to them a day after it was revealed to her.

Projected SummerSlam Card

The report indicates that there is no animosity between the wrestling organization and Spike TV since the network gave TNA plenty of advance notice and it can now shop its product to other networks in hopes of landing a deal.

According to the report, there was a feeling at the meeting that TNA was leaving Spike TV on its own due to the network's failure to promote the product while it was later revealed that it was indeed Spike TV cutting ties with TNA by telling Carter they would no longer air the product.

WWE Hall of Fame announcer Jim Ross took to his official Twitter account to discuss the news of Spike TV dropping TNA.

"This could well be a blockbuster week in the wrestling business....@WWE financials....@SpikeTV @IMPACTWRESTLING relationship.. stay tuned," Ross tweeted.

He added: "Rampant rumors out of NYC re: Spike/TNA relationship being very much in jeopardy. Hope scuttlebutt is wrong. Pulling for @IMPACTWRESTLING"

The fate of TNA Impact Wrestling come October is up in the air right now, but it definitely will not be on Spike TV going forward.
