According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Cubs are unwilling to include their major prospects in any trade talks thus eliminating them from talking with the Rays concerning Price.

The Cubs are stacked with young talent in their farm system and currently have three of the top 10 prospects in the game in their farm. The three players the Cubs refuse to trade are third baseman Kris Bryant at No. 2, shortstop Addison Russell at No. 5 and shortstop Javier Baez at No. 7.
