Rory McIlroy is making an awful lot of apologies to women these days.

The Irish Independent is reporting that McIlroy apologized to Nadia Forde for his role in drawing media hordes around her asking about their relationship and her feelings about his relationship with ex-model Sasha Gale, according to a friend of Forde's.
The report added that McIlroy is not interested in settling down with any one woman after his well-publicized breakup with tennis star Caroline Wozniacki after he got cold feel when their wedding invitations went out.
McIlroy was photographed having lunch with Gale a day after he won the British Open, and reports surface that the two had been dating for the past five weeks.
Prior to that lunch, McIlroy had been linked romantically to Forde, which the Independent says in accurate. It said that while the two have been in contact almost on a daily basis, she is the one who indicated she was interested only in being friends and that she encouraged McIlroy to date several women casually to distance himself from his relationship from Wozniacki.
Forde's friend told the Independent that she was mad to have become tabloid fodder and have her privacy invaded.
That's what led to the apology from McIlroy.
"They were getting on great; she thinks he is a really good guy. But then this week it all went a bit pear-shaped," a close friend of the model told the Sunday Independent.
"Nadia feels if they are going to be friends, then there has to be respect. When she had to walk through the airport last week with snappers (photographers) shouting at her and asking how she felt about Sasha and whether or not she had anything to say to the girl, she was very upset at being caught off-guard. She would have appreciated a warning, as his mate.
"It was obvious Nadia was going to get roped into the story having been linked to Rory and it would have been nice to get a call from him in advance if he knew what was about to kick off."
But the friend of Forde then mentioned an interesting comment from McIlroy that still leaves some doubt as to the nature of their relationship.
"Rory apologized to her and seemed upset that he had caused her needless embarrassment," Forde's friend said. "From what I gather, he also said there was nothing going on with this Sasha girl - it was just lunch."
"But Nadia stressed to him that they are just friends now so she has no issue with any girl he dates and said he doesn't need to give her any explanation."
The friend added that Forde is wondering whether being his friend is worth all the drama.
