Texas A&M Football Rumors: Johnny Manziel 2012 Game-Worn Jersey Expected to Sell for $100K at Auction [VIDEO]

Johnny Manziel is the biggest Texas A&M star since Dat Nguyen in the late 1990’s and current Denver Bronco Von Miller, but who would have though his memorabilia would sell for six-figures?

Could Penn State's Christian Hackenberg Steal the Heisman in 2014?

An autographed, game-used Johnny Manziel jersey is set to be the highest price ever paid for a college football jersey. Manziel wore the same jersey for all six of his home games in the 2012 season and also took home the Heisman Trophy that season. Dan Imler, vice president of SCP Autions, believes that Manziel is a huge draw and the winning bid on the jersey should fetch $100,000.

"This is his only game-used jersey from his college career that has come to market," said Dan Imler "It has been a long time since we've seen a player as polarizing as Johnny Football," Imler said. "He has got an electrifying personality and everyone is either rooting for or against him.”

Browns 'Alarmed' By Manziel's Antics

SCP Auctions has confirmed that the jersey is 100 percent authentic and that the original owner attempted to sell it for $300,000 on eBay. Last year, a pair of cleats that Manziel wore in Texas A&M’s win over Alabama and a jersey he wore on the sideline in 2011 went for $7,760 in auction.

The auction will take place from August 6 to August 23 and Imler said that it should greatly surpass Notre Dame Paul Hornung’s jersey, the highest price paid for a game-used college football jersey, which went for $27,000.
