Sting WWE Rumors: Batista Discusses Steve Borden, Undertaker's Streak And The Shield Not Being Ready As Singles Stars [VIDEO]

WWE Superstar Batista is on hiatus from the company to promote the Guardians of the Galaxy movie where he plays Drax the Destroyer, but he recently conducted an interview where he talked about a variety of different topics including Sting joining the WWE family and The Shield not being ready for their singles pushes.

Snith Hart Calls Out Vince Russo On Twitter For TNA's Failure And Owen Hart's Death

It was revealed that Sting has joined the WWE family and the company has released his merchandise and included him as a playable character for those who pre-order WWE 2K15. Batista addressed Sting's arrival and was asked to speculate on whether or not Sting will wrestle a WWE match.

"I don't know - you know, they've been talking about that for years. I've never even met him," Batista told The Huffington Post U.K. "But I hope so. I think he's got a place there. But they need to do it soon because the audience is changing so much that if they wait any longer, the audience is going to be a bunch of kids and when he comes out they're going to chant CM Punk."

updated Card And Rumors For SummerSlam

It had been rumored that Sting may face The Undertaker sometime down the line at WrestleMania, but now that Brock Lesnar ended The Streak at April's WrestleMania XXX and 'Taker got injured, his in-ring career is up in the air. "The Animal" was asked about his opinion on The Streak coming to an end.

"It sucked," Batista said. "Honestly, I thought it sucked. I haven't really talked much about it but I think it was a bad decision, a horrible decision. I don't have any say in the matter but to me, watching as a fan, it made me sick. Brock Lesnar beating him didn't seem to work and it really wasn't good that Brock left the day after. I just don't see how that made sense at all. I don't think anyone wanted to see The Streak broken and it just didn't make sense to me."

Batista was also asked about the breakup of The Shield as Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose have all gone their separate ways after the WWE chose to split up the successful trio in June. Reigns is slated to be the next big main eventer while Rollins and Ambrose have continued to feud on television.

"It's similar to my take on the Undertaker. I guess there comes a point where you have to send them their separate ways but - and it's just my opinion - I don't think they were ready," Batista said.

He added: "I don't think they're ready to fly solo. I realize where they're going and that WWE will push Roman Reigns straight to the top. However for me, Dean Ambrose is by far the most talented in that group and I think eventually if they just give him the spotlight then he's going to shine. As soon as he touches a mic everyone else can just sit down as he's magic on it. So it remains to be seen, I think they're all talented but to me Dean was the star of that group. I think Roman looks like the star of that group but I don't think he's nearly as talented as Dean."

Batista also touched on how long it took to put Drax's makeup on, the best rib that has been played on him, his experience visiting NXT, and Jeff Jarrett's Global Force Wrestling promotion. The full interview can be read by clicking here.
