Reports indicate that the following was taped on Tuesday night for the episode of SmackDown set to air this Friday, Aug. 1 from Corpus Christi, TX as the company continues to build toward SummerSlam on Aug. 17 live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

In the main event, Chris Jericho defeated Erick Rowan in a match where if "Y2J" won, Rowan would be banned from ringside for Jericho's match against Bray Wyatt at SummerSlam. Luke Harper was kicked out of ringside for the match while Wyatt attacked Jericho at the end of the show.
The show opened with Jack Swagger defeating Cesaro with the Patriot Lock. After the match, Rusev and Lana cut a promo on Swagger and Zeb Colter, and the match between Rusev and Swagger was made official for SummerSlam.

Another big development happened for SummerSlam as Randy Orton came out and challenged Roman Reigns to a match at the biggest show of the summer.
Kane and Seth Rollins were in action and defeated Dean Ambrose in a handicap match by disqualification after Ambrose hit Kane with a steel chair. Rollins then ran away as Ambrose struck Kane a few more times with it.
Elsewhere on the program, Diego came out with Summer Rae and Layla to defeat Fandango, Alberto Del Rio defeated Dolph Ziggler after The Miz -- who was on commentary -- distracted Ziggler and R-Truth defeated Bo Dallas by disqualification after Dallas refused to break the five-count on a submission hold. After that match, Dallas beat down Truth and cut a promo.
In Divas action, AJ Lee defeated Rosa Medes by submission and was attacked by Paige on the ramp after the match.
SmackDown continued to build toward SummerSlam as a summer full of in-ring action marches on to the second biggest show of the year.
