Two clubs in opposite conferences of MLS will do battle today in a league match between Real Salt Lake and the New York Red Bulls. The first-division clash scheduled for 9 p.m. ET will be held at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah and can be live streamed here free. Additional TV coverage can be found on ESPN2.
Poor form has plagued the Red Bulls in recent weeks. The club has only managed to capture one victory in its last five matches. Head coach Mike Petke understands that something has gone awry. The same perseverance that lifted New York to its first-ever major trophy is absent in 2014.
"There's something askew, I guess you could say, compared to last year," Petke said (via MLS's official website). "Last year, we were a good, solid team that shut teams down when we were up, that worked until the very end and it's a little bit different this year. We're going to try and pinpoint it."
Goalkeeper Luis Robles added: "We've got 14 games left. We have to have the mindset of fixing our mistakes. If we don't fix our mistakes, then we can kiss the playoffs goodbye."
The club's first opportunity to turn the season around comes tonight.
